+ John Bellesfelt buried in Mahoning County, Ohio. Born 1750, died July 11, 1830. Buried at Old Richard Cemetery. Married Nellie Williamson at Larason Corners. + Peter Bellesfelt Revolutionary War pension application was filed in Trumbull County, Ohio. Pension S.16048. In testimony given Aug. 23, 1832, Peter stated he served as a private in the company commanded by Capt. Butler of the 9th Pennsylvania Regiment commanded by Col. Butler for seven months starting in April or May 1780. At the start of his service, he lived in Hamilton Township, Northampton County, Pa., "but in consequence of the extreme danger of residing on the frontier his father in law together with himself and his wife and her fathers family removed to Newtown in Berks County Pa." There he enlisted as a volunteer in a regiment to defend the frontiers. The unit was attached to Gen. Anthony Wayne's command, and Peter fought in some skirmishes with Tories at Bergin Point. He also said that he saw Benedict Arnold desert to the British. Peter was born Feb. 10, 1756, near Flemington, N.J. He lived in Hamilton Township for 12 years. He lived in Berks County for an unstated period of time. He then lived in Washington County, Pa., "until within five years when I removed to Ohio." Received $23.33 per year starting March 4, 1831.
